I was born in Montréal, Canada from an immigrant family from Haiti. At an early age I had the desire to become a physician. My mother has always remind me of the story when I was 2yrs old and came up to her and said I was going to become a doctor. My family relocated to Florida in 1993 where I completed high school at Miami Sunset Senior High. I completed my undergraduate at University of South Florida with a Bachelors in Chemistry. After completion of my undergraduate studies, I relocated to New York where I enrolled at the New York College of Podiatric Medicine in 2001 where I met my husband, Donovan Gowdie, who has not only been supportive but instrumental in my development and growth and helping me to achieve my goals. I transferred to Ross University where I completed my medical degree in 2007, after which I enrolled at the New York Medical College to complete a Masters in Public Health with a concentration in Behavior Sciences and Health Promotion. Through out my academic career I have strived for excellence, and have been involved in volunteering at numerous hospitals in Miami, research at Jackson Memorial Hospital in teen pregnancy prevention and education in Diabetes, Sickle Cell and Asthma and assisted in formulating an online database which provided Westchester, NY policymakers, service providers and children’s advocates a single, comprehensive data resource about children and youth in their County.
I am excited to become part of the Phoebe family and making Albany my new home.

I was born and raised in New Orleans, La. After High School, I worked two jobs for 6 months to save up enough money to start college. I received a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Southern University at New Orleans while working full time as a Movie Theater Projectionist. After college I worked as a Neuroscience Research Associate for five years at LSU Health Science the Neurological effects of Fetal Alcohol Syndrome and the Neurological Visual System. I received my medical degree from American University of the Caribbean after completing two years of Basic Science Courses on the beautiful Caribbean island of St Maarten and two years of Clinical Rotations in New York City.
I enjoy spending time with friends and family, especially my nieces and nephew. I have a love for everything electronic from computers to phones to TV’s. At any given time, I’ll probably have the newest and coolest electronic device out. I chose Southwest Georgia Family Medicine Program because the residency was unopposed and I noticed everyone I met had a genuine interest in helping me become the best doctor I can be and I think that was most important in shaping my medical career.

I was born and raised in Jacksonville, Florida where I began attending the University of North Florida in August 1998 and earned my Bachelor’s of Science degree in Biology in December 2002. Before attending medical school, I worked at Baptist Medical Center in downtown Jacksonville for a year and a half as a Health Unit Coordinator, EKG Monitor Technician, and Patient Ambassador. I began medical school in September 2004 at Ross University School of Medicine in Dominica, West Indies. In November 2008, I earned a Doctor of Medicine degree.
I enjoy spending time with family and friends. I like watching TV with my younger brother, and some of my favorite shows include medical documentaries, Mystery Diagnosis, and House. I was involved in American Kenpo Karate and earned my purple belt right before leaving for medical school. I hope to get back into martial arts someday. I am very excited to be joining the Southwest Georgia Family Medicine Residency Program as I saw right away that there is a strong family bond among the residents and faculty. Because I so enjoy caring for patients throughout all stages of life, I felt that Family Medicine was a perfect fit for me. In the future, I would like to become a partner in a practice or to possibly start my own practice.

Prysca grew up in Cameroon, West Africa and moved to the US at the age of 17 after high school. Prysca was first exposed to medicine in the US during undergrad where she did an internship with the Minority Medical Education Program at Yale University School of Medicine. After graduating from Benedict College with a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, she spent a few months with the Center for Disease Control and Prevention and later went on to the National Institutes of Health where she was fortunate to publish several papers on her work on Ovarian Cancer Research. She received her medical degree from the University of Maryland School of Medicine. In the summer of her first year, she was selected to go to Nigeria with Dr. Robert Gallo's team from the Institute of Human Virology. While there, she assisted in setting up HIV clinics in various parts of Nigeria. This program was where Prysca's love for Family Medicine was confirmed as she worked with many family physicians in helping to recruit high risk groups for (HIV) testing and counseling of the patients she encountered.
Prysca enjoys spending time with friends and family, travelling, fellowship in her church, and trying out new recipes. Prysca was drawn to Phoebe by the unopposed program, the high quality of education the residents receive, and the community support which she believes is second to none! She is humbled by the opportunity to serve in this capacity and gives all credit to God, family and friends for getting her to this point. |
